The owner of the guest house was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, providing us with great recommendations for sightseeing. The traditional Japanese house itself was beautiful and gave us a unique experience. We loved eating under the kotatsu during chilly evenings. The location was also very convenient, being close to the station and market. we had a great time at Guest House Taiko-Ya and would recommend it to others.

The host was super friendly and always available to answer our questions. Loved the traditional Japanese house. The location was convenient, close to transportation and the shopping district.
Had to wait to drop off our luggage and there was only one shower.

Great location, close to subway and shopping areas. Loved the communal kitchen and free WiFi. Perfect place to relax and explore Kyoto.
Only drawback was the lack of communication about check-in and rules. But hey, who needs to know when they can use the bathroom?

Staying at this old wooden Japanese house was mind-blowing! It's in the middle of the city, making it super convenient to explore the amazing attractions using public transportation. The owner, who speaks English, is incredibly nice and gave us awesome sightseeing recommendations. We even had an unforgettable Japanese food experience at an izakaya. The traditional Japanese house atmosphere was lovely, especially when we had delicious meals under the kotatsu to stay warm. The host, Yu, was always friendly and ready to answer our questions. The place had a great vibe with a spacious room and a beautiful garden. Bicycles for rent allowed us to explore a lot in one day. Definitely recommend it for an incredible stay!

I recently had a wonderful stay in a traditional Japanese guest house in the heart of a vibrant city. The location of the guest house was perfect, as it allowed me to easily explore all of the main attractions using public transportation. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making sure that I had everything I needed during my stay. The room I stayed in was cozy and clean, adorned with beautiful tatami mats. Despite being an old wooden house, the atmosphere was peaceful and serene. The guest house also had a lovely garden where I could relax and unwind. The only downside was that the house could be a bit noisy at times, as sound traveled easily between the rooms. However, this was a small inconvenience that didn't overshadow the overall enjoyable experience.
